How to Authorize an Email Sender at Outlook.com - Shaon Blogging |
If you miss important emails because they are sent to a spam or junk folder, you may need to authorize the sender or the entire domain name to ensure that those emails go where they should go: your inbox. The authorization process depends on your email service. If you are using Microsoft's Outlook.com (formerly Microsoft's Hotmail and Windows Live Hotmail), follow these steps to make sure you have all the information you need when you read.
Check the Junk Folder
Always check your Unwanted email folder to make sure important messages don't end there. Outlook Spam Email Filter automatically moves suspicious spam to the Spam email folder based on a variety of factors, including time and email content. If the email from the sender you want to authorize is complete in your trash folder, the process is simple. Click Show Content to view the email subject. Next, click Mark as secure. The sender will be added to your list of secure senders, and all future emails should go to your inbox.
Add Personally Contacts to the Safe Senders List
You can also manually add email addresses or domains to your list of secure senders at Outlook.com for permanent authorization. To do this, select Settings, then select Options. In the left pane, select Spam Email, and then Safe Senders. In the box, enter the email addresses or domains you want to authorize, and then select the Add button. Click Save, and you're ready.
Automatically Add Contacts to Safe Senders List
You can also choose which email addresses to which you send the emails are automatically added to the Outlook.com Safe Senders list. First, click Home, then select Junk, and then the Unwanted Email Options. On the Safe Senders tab, make sure the box is checked next to Automatically add the people I email to the list of secure senders.
Personally Turn on Senders
In addition to checking your Junk folder, check your Blocked Senders list from time to time to make sure it does not contain friendly senders. To do this, select Settings, then select Options. In the left pane, select Spam Email, and then Blocked Senters. Select the address or domain you want to open, and then click the trash can icon next to it. Do this for everything you want to delete, then click Save.
Another Tip
You no longer have the option to simply add senders to your contacts list or address book to get them automatically authenticated. Outlook.com will still send you emails in your trash folder unless the sender is on your secure senders list. To make sure you receive your important emails, check your Junk folder and add the exact email addresses and domains to your list of secure senders.
